1. La Pelosa (Stintino): The Most Beautiful Beach in Sardinia

Despite its name, which translates to “the hairy one,” La Pelosa is one of the Mediterranean's most beloved beaches. Once you set foot on its soft, white sand and gaze at the turquoise waters, you'll understand why it’s a favorite. The iconic Pelosa Tower in the backdrop adds to its allure.

Note that from June to September, access to this beach is limited to 1,000 visitors per day. It’s essential to reserve tickets online two days in advance and pay a modest entrance fee of €3.50 (free for kids under 12). Due to its immense popularity, the authorities have implemented this measure to manage the crowds effectively.

Moreover, remember to bring a mat to place under your towel; failure to do so may result in a hefty fine of €100, so be cautious!

⭐ Where to Find It? Located in the northern part of the island, the nearest town is Porto Torres. We visited this gem during a day trip from Alghero, which is about 40 km away.

2. La Maddalena: An Archipelago of Wonders

While La Maddalena isn’t just a single beach, it’s an archipelago comprised of approximately 60 islands and islets that deserves a spot on this list! This marine park is breathtaking, although visiting isn’t the cheapest option. We took a day tour from Alghero, but it felt far too short.

If you can, spend a few days here; La Maddalena is home to some of the finest beaches in Sardinia. If pressed to choose just one, we’d recommend Spiaggia Testa di Polpo (Octopus Head Beach), named for its rock formation resembling the creature.

3. Rena Bianca: A Snorkeler’s Paradise

If you love swimming and snorkeling, the turquoise waters of Rena Bianca are perfect for you. Take a moment to climb the steps leading to the rocks on the right side of the beach; the views from up there are nothing short of spectacular.

⭐ Where to Find It? Located in northern Sardinia, very close to the charming town of Santa Teresa di Gallura, which is also worth a visit.

Bonus: nearby, you can explore the archaeological site of Tharros, an ancient city founded by the Phoenicians and later occupied by the Romans.

5. Spiaggia del Pevero (Porto Cervo): The Party Hub

You absolutely must visit this cove. Why? Because it’s nothing short of magical! The beach is adorned with white and pink pebbles, complemented by crystal-clear waters and white rocks that lend a unique charm to the place.

For those interested in spelunking, this area features fascinating marine caves. To access the beach, you’ll need to take a boat tour like this.

8. Spiaggia Rosa (Isla Budelli): A Unique Wonder
