One of the city’s standout culinary treasures is the radicchio rosso (red chicory). Considered Italy's finest, this vegetable has a unique slightly bitter flavor and a crisp texture that elevates any dish. If you visit Treviso between October and December, you'll easily find it featured on many local menus. Top restaurants to enjoy affordable meals in Treviso

1. Toni del Spin

Toni del Spin is a fantastic place to try the risotto al radicchio (available only in season). Expect to pay around 12€ per person, with a minimum order for two people. Even if you visit outside of the radicchio season, this restaurant is a great choice for authentic "trevigiana" cuisine, with average prices ranging from 15-25€ per person—making it the priciest recommendation in this guide, but well worth it.

2. Hostaria dai Naneti, a classic budget-friendly eatery

Located in the heart of Treviso, Hostaria dai Naneti is a beloved enoteca, known for its welcoming atmosphere. One of the highlights is the house wine, ombra di nero, priced at just 0.80€. While it might not be top-shelf, it’s perfect for those traveling on a budget. Other wines are also available, with prices ranging from 1.50€ to 3.50€. Don't miss the local prosecco, which is a must-try in this region of Italy.

For food, you can indulge in cicchetti (the traditional Veneto tapas), sandwiches, or cheese and charcuterie platters (priced by weight). This spot is ideal if you appreciate traditional, informal dining where authenticity is key.

3. Pizzeria Spillo

If you’re craving authentic Neapolitan pizza, Pizzeria Spillo is the place to be in Treviso. Run by Giuseppe Sorbillo, a member of one of Naples' most renowned pizza families, this restaurant guarantees quality. One of the highlights is the margherita pizza for just 5.50€. However, we couldn't resist trying the pizza Norma, priced at 7.50€, topped with tomato, fior di latte, fried eggplant, and smoked ricotta.

4. Antica Osteria Al Botegon

This beloved spot is a favorite for aperitivo in Treviso. On my last visit, I returned with a friend and we enjoyed a delightful experience. We ordered a glass of prosecco, a spritz, and several cicchetti (ranging from 1.50€ to 3€), including tuna and ricotta meatballs and cod crostini. We spent about 12€ per person and left completely satisfied!

5. Malvasia

On our latest trip to Treviso, we stumbled upon Malvasia, which quickly became our go-to for brunch. The interior is charming, featuring wooden log seating and autumn leaf decorations. Their menu is perfect for breakfast, brunch, and aperitivo, and their coffee is both delicious and reasonably priced.

6. Osteria al Radicchio Rosso, offering a great daily menu

During the week, this restaurant features a fantastic daily menu for just 13€, which includes two courses with options for both meat and fish. The food is homemade and flavorful, and the staff is friendly—I've known them for years from my business trips to the area!

7. Osteria dalla Gigia, another Treviso classic

A must-visit if you're keen on a cicchetti bar crawl, Osteria dalla Gigia specializes in mozzarella in carrozza (fried mozzarella with sweet ham or anchovies), which is simply delicious. Pair it with a glass of local wine or an Aperol spritz for an enhanced experience. They also offer various charcuterie sandwiches for just 2€ each.
